Health Programs

Our Health Programmes are in two (2) parts;


Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Programme

This programme aims at:

  • Empowering people to increase control over their health and its determinants through literacy efforts and multi-sectoral actions to increase healthy behaviour.
  • Addressing behavioral risk factors such as Tobacco use, Obesity, Diet and Physical inactivity as well as the areas of mental health, injury prevention, drug abuse control, alcohol control, health behavior related to HIV and sexual Health.
  • Primary prevention services: vaccination  and post prophylaxis  of children, adults  and the elderly, counseling and  provision of Nutritional and food supplementation, screening programs, Dental Hygiene  education  and oral  health services.
  • Strategies to tackle domestic violence, including public awareness campaigns, treatment / protection of victims plus linkage with law enforcement / social services.
  • Encouraging multi- sectoral partnerships for health promotions and disease prevention.

 

Reproductive Health and Preventive Medicine Programme

This programme aims at: 

  • Provision of free medicals; provision of free maternal and child-care support to the indigent
  • To promote health  and social well being  in the areas of prevention and treatment of endemic diseases
  • To encourage public education about preventive medicine
  •  To create awareness, educate and enlighten the public on behavioral  modification for prevention of endemic diseases.
